Terms of Service

Last updated: May 4, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Clipus platform ("Service"), operated by Clipus, Inc., a Delaware corporation ("Company," "we," "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Clipus is an autonomous marketing platform that generates multilingual short-form marketing videos from SaaS product demonstrations. The Service includes a Chrome browser extension for data collection, a Public REST API for programmatic access, third-party integrations (Slack Bot, Notion sync, MCP server for AI agents), a cloud-based generation and analysis system, and automated multi-platform video distribution capabilities.

3. User Accounts

You must create an account to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.

4. Chrome Extension Data Collection

The Clipus Chrome Extension collects the following data from web pages you explicitly choose to record:

  • DOM (Document Object Model) structure and text content
  • UI element coordinates and layout properties
  • Screenshots of the active browser tab
  • Click coordinates and user interaction events

Data collection occurs only on pages you actively select for recording and only while the extension recording feature is enabled. The extension does not collect data passively or from pages you do not select. The extension does not record video or audio.

During an active capture session, visible text on the page may be sent to our servers for translation pre-caching to improve video generation speed. This data is associated with the website domain only and contains no personal information.

Additionally, the extension includes an on-device OCR engine that detects and localizes text within captured screenshot images. This processing occurs entirely within your browser — no image data is sent to external servers for text detection purposes.

All captured data is automatically deleted from our servers 30 days after video generation is completed, unless you choose to retain it. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.

5. User Content and Intellectual Property

You retain ownership of all content you provide to the Service, including screenshots and data from your SaaS applications. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to process this content solely for the purpose of generating videos as requested by you. We do not claim ownership of your content or the videos generated from it.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Record or process content from websites you do not own or have authorization to use
  • Generate videos containing misleading, fraudulent, or deceptive content
  • Violate any applicable laws, regulations, or third-party rights
  • Distribute malware or interfere with the Service's infrastructure
  • Resell or sublicense access to the Service without authorization

7. Public API and Integrations

Clipus provides a Public REST API, Slack Bot integration, Notion integration, and an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server for AI agent integration (collectively, "Integration Services"). The following additional terms apply:

  • API Keys: API keys are confidential credentials. You are solely responsible for safeguarding your API keys. Do not share keys in public repositories, client-side code, or unsecured environments. Compromised keys should be revoked immediately.
  • Rate Limits: API calls are subject to per-plan rate limits (Growth: 10 requests/minute, Business: 60 requests/minute). Exceeding rate limits will result in temporary throttling (HTTP 429).
  • Usage Quotas: API-generated videos consume the same monthly video credits as videos generated through the Chrome Extension or dashboard.
  • URL Restrictions: The API processes publicly accessible URLs only. You may not submit URLs to content you do not own or have authorization to use.
  • Webhooks: Webhook endpoints you configure must use HTTPS. We are not responsible for data exposure caused by insecure webhook receivers.
  • Slack Integration: The Slack Bot requires linking your Clipus account. Usage through Slack is subject to the same plan limits and acceptable use policies.
  • Notion Integration: Notion sync requires you to authorize Clipus through Notion OAuth and select the pages or databases Clipus may access. Clipus writes campaign, performance, and asset data to the Notion databases you configure. You are responsible for ensuring that your Notion workspace permissions and shared pages are appropriate for the data you sync.
  • Third-Party AI Agents: When using Clipus via MCP-compatible AI agents (e.g., Claude, Cursor), you remain responsible for all actions initiated by those agents under your API key.

8. Payment, Billing, and Refunds

Paid plans are billed monthly (or annually, if selected) via Stripe in United States Dollars (USD). You may cancel at any time through the Billing Portal, effective at the end of the current billing period.

Each subscription plan includes a monthly allocation of video generation credits and other usage-based resources ("Monthly Credits"). Monthly Credits reset at the beginning of each billing cycle and do not roll over. Unused credits are forfeited and have no cash value.

Refunds: New subscribers may request a full refund within seven (7) days of their first charge, subject to our Refund & Cancellation Policy. Refunds are not available after that period except as required by applicable law or at our sole discretion.

Failed payments: If a scheduled payment fails, Stripe retries automatically. During this period, the account is marked past due but retains access. If all retries fail, the subscription is canceled and reverts to the free tier.

9. Service Availability and Modifications

We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Service with reasonable notice. We will make commercially reasonable efforts to notify users of material changes.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Clipus, Inc. shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the twelve months preceding the claim.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Clipus, Inc. from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of any third-party rights.

12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in the State of Delaware. The Service is operated from the United States. By accessing the Service from any region, you consent to the transfer and processing of your information in the United States.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified via email or in-app notification at least 30 days before taking effect. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
